Plastic pollution is everywhere: from Atlantic beaches to Arctic sea ice to huge swirling vortexes of trash in the Pacific Ocean. And you can find it in every shape and size, from microscopic particles to whole refrigerators full of plastic parts. But plastic itself isn’t the enemy. It’s the way we handle it that needs to change.

We  need to change the world’s attitude toward plastic within one generation. We cannot waste time.  Plastic pollution is become a global issue and  impacts ocean, its creatures, and our health. Through education is possible to let people understand we are jeopardizing our species survival. It is necessary  to stem the tide of plastic entering the ocean, before it is too late. Consumers are not so aware about plastic risks in order to take decisions about how and when they accept plastic, and in doing so shape their future demand for more environmentally sensitive solutions. Plastics cannot be avoid but may be used properly and … properly recycled.

Are you aware that more than 300 million tonnes of new plastic is produced every year in the World?  The upsetting, disturbing issue is that half of this is used just once (as plastic shoppers).  Eventually a huge amount of plastic is released in the ocean every year and  plastic waste is carried along by ocean currents, it breaks up into tiny pieces creating a plastic soup. Regrettably most of them is ate by fish and marine animals.  Could you believe that in some Eastern Sea areas plastic particles outnumber plankton by a ratio of 26:1?

Last but not the least, plastic pellets (beads) have porosities whom absorb toxic chemicals such as BPA, phthalates, pesticides and PCBs. Sufficient to create  a deadly mixture.

BE SMARTER 🙂 REDUCE PLASTICS 🙂 COLLECT PLASTICS IN THE BEACH AND SHORE AND RECYCLE IT PROPERLY 🙂
