Ha ottenuto il suo diploma post-laurea in oncologia molecolare nel 1987-1990 a Novosibirsk, in Russia, ed ha lavorato alla Kiev State University come ricercatore. Nel 1990, ha iniziato ad interessarsi di programmazione ed ha lavorato come programmatore dal 1991 al 1995 quando si trasfer\u00ec negli Stati Uniti aprendo una sua societ\u00e0 di IT nel 2000. Ho amato mia nonna ed amato le sue storie sulle persone che conosceva e dei luoghi che aveva visitato. Mi raccontava la storia&nbsp;&nbsp;di un fotografo che poteva far diventare con la sua macchina fotografica qualsiasi donna bellissima. Dentro di me invidiavo quel personaggio e volevo essere come lui. Volevo che mia nonna potesse dire un giorno che quell&#8217;uomo ero io.&nbsp;Molto tempo \u00e8 passato; sono stato in tutto il mondo, cambiato lavoro e macchine fotografiche, scattato immagini di&nbsp;cose incredibili, ma in tutti i viaggi della mia vita la ricerca della bellezza attraverso il mio obiettivo \u00e8 rimasta costante. Oggi mi sento all&#8217;altezza di questa sfida. A dire il vero, oggigiorno \u00e8 la macchina fotografica a guidarmi nelle mie scelte. Decide dove ci immergiamo e cosa facciamo sott&#8217;acqua. E&#8217; sempre un passo avanti a me. Io penso che il migliore punto di immersione \u00e8 qui, in California. Sto parlando delle foreste di kelp della California. Non vi \u00e8 nulla di simile. Raggi di sole si riversano dall&#8217;alto, le foche ti circondano per mordere le tue pinne ed i pesci ti circondano per vedere &#8230; se sei commestibile &#8230; Non ci credete? &nbsp;Basta guardare le mie foto.&nbsp;Purtroppo, in California molte foreste di kelp stanno morendo; a malapena raggiungono la superficie e le foglie&nbsp;sono spesso strappate e malate. Il motivo \u00e8 noto: l&#8217;acqua dell&#8217;oceano si sta surriscaldando. Spero che i biologi potranno essere in grado di risolvere il problema prima che queste foreste di &nbsp;alghe si estinguano per sempre. Noi (la mia barca, la mia macchina fotografica, il mio equipaggio ed io) ci accingiamo questo autunno a catturare la bellezza delle foreste di kelp per farvele apprezzare e sensibilizzare il pericolo che le circonda. To tell you the truth, the camera takes me along now. It decides where we dive and what we do underwater. It always keeps a bit ahead of me. The camera even saved my life once on a solo dive on Virgin Islands when reef sharks on were inviting me for a dinner.&nbsp;<\/em><em>My cameras and myself have been around and have seen enough to say: the best place to dive is not the most comfortable one, not the one with the warmest water neither best visibility. Our best dive spot is here, in California. I am talking about California kelp forest. There is nothing like it. Sunbeams are pouring at you from the top, seals are biting your fins, and fishes are coming close to you to check&nbsp; whether you are eatable at all. &nbsp;I won\u2019t be writing too much, just look it up. Or check out my photos.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Unfortunately, we are loosing kelp forests here. The trees barely reach surface, the lives are all torn and sick. The reason remains unclear. The ocean water is warming up to start with. I hope ocean biologists will solve this before the kelp forest extinct here.
