font-size: 18pt;\">Descrizione generale<\/span><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong>La caratteristica tipica di questa famiglia, particolarmente esaltata nei generi\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em>Strombus<\/em><\/span><\/strong> e\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"> <em>Lambis<\/em><\/span><\/strong>, \u00e8 costituita da una evidente incisione (intaccatura) nel labbro chiamata \u201c<em>strombus notch<\/em>\u201d. Da questa, il mollusco, protende uno dei suoi due occhi.\u00a0Ed \u00e8 questa particolarit\u00e0 conchigliare che caratterizza l\u2019intera famiglia ad eccezione del genere <em>Terebellum<\/em> che, al pari dei <em>Lambis<\/em>, qui non saranno trattati.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Strombidae-Rafinesque-1815.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6191 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Strombidae-Rafinesque-1815.png\" alt=\"Strombidae Rafinesque, 1815\" width=\"462\" height=\"226\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Strombidae-Rafinesque-1815.png 598w, https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Strombidae-Rafinesque-1815-300x146.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 462px) 100vw, 462px\" \/><\/a><\/u>L\u2019anatomia \u00e8 comune all&#8217;intera famiglia. Tutti i rappresentanti hanno un piede particolarmente stretto e arcuato che culmina in un opercolo osseo relativamente piccolo. Questa particolare forma del piede permette agli <em>Strombus<\/em> di procedere anche a saltelli dando l\u2019impressione di scalciare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il sistema risulta particolarmente efficace per sfuggire ai predatori. Possiedono anche\u00a0 occhi complessi che, come gi\u00e0 detto, pu\u00f2\u2019 essere esteso da una peculiare intaccatura, canale, situata nella parte anteriore della conchiglia. Gli occhi sono estremamente mobili e capaci di una visione acuta, la pi\u00f9 acuta fra tutti i molluschi. Rilascia uova raccolti in lunghi nastri gelatinosi. Vivono in ambiente intertidale o sotto la zona di bassa marea,\u00a0 in acque tropicali cibandosi di alghe o detriti. Si nascondono completamente o parzialmente sotto la sabbia ad eccezione del gigantesco <em>Strombus gigas<\/em> che lo fa solamente in et\u00e0 giovanile.\u00a0<span style=\"text-align: justify;\">Per la sua grandezza e pesantezza, per i grossi tubercoli e per il robusto labbro alato la specie non \u00e8 confondibile con altre specie di famiglie e generi differenti presenti nel Pliocene del Bacino mediterraneo. I gusci sono allungati e piuttosto delicati di 60-90 cm altezza negli esemplari adulti con spirali di crescente convessit\u00e0. Spirale nepionica leggermente infossata. Vicino alla sutura abituale si osservano deboli tracce di una decorazione a spirale. A Note on\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em>Strombus coronatus<\/em><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Defrance, 1827 and\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em>Strombus coronatus<\/em><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, <\/span><\/em><\/span>R\u00f6ding, 1798 (Mollusca: Gastropoda).\u00a0<em><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The Veliger<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0<strong>50<\/strong>\u00a0(2): 120-128.] e se verificate e se l&#8217;identificazione fosse corretta, potrebbe suggerire che il\u00a0<strong><em><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Persistrombus coronatus<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0sia un taxa dell\u2019Africa occidentale che in seguito si sia diffusa nel Mediterraneo. Con il raffreddamento climatico iniziato nel Piacenziano, questa specie, si estinse. Ci\u00f2 port\u00f2 alcuni autori del passato a descriverne diverse variet\u00e0. Attualmente si ritrova alle basse profondit\u00e0 nei fondali dell&#8217;Africa occidentale, da Capo Verde all&#8217;Angola.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">STROMBOIDEA RECENTI<\/span><u><\/u><\/span><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><u><br \/>\n<\/u><\/span><\/strong>Una sola specie vive stabilmente in Mar Mediterraneo, anche se, in letteratura, ne sono citate almeno altre quattro, note per singoli ritrovamenti evidentemente accidentali. <strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">L\u2019unica specie vivente nel mar Mediterraneo \u00e8 il Conomurex persicus. <\/span><\/strong>Specie diffusa nel Golfo Persico fu segnalata per la prima volta in Mediterraneo nel 1978 per le acque di Bozborum, Kemer (Sud Turchia). Li furono ritrovati esemplari viventi da parte di due nomi storici della malacologia italiana che tanto hanno contribuito alla diffusione di questa disciplina in Italia grazie anche a una famosa pubblicazione periodica, La Conchiglia\u201d. Stiamo parlando di Nicolay &amp; Romagna \u2013Manoja che allora lo determinarono come una nuova sottospecie di decorus: Strombus decorus raybaudii, Nicolay &amp; Romagna-Manoja, 1983 (Nicolay K. &amp; Romagna Manoja L., 1983- Strombus decorus raybaudii n. ssp. La Conchiglia, Roma, 15 (176-177):17-18). Gi\u00e0 nel 1985 Piero Bazzocchi segnalava il ritrovamento di 15 esemplari pagurati per le acque di Girne, costa settentrionale di Cipro (Bollettino Malacologico, 1-4, 1985).<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Conomurex-persicus-Swainson-1821.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6171 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Conomurex-persicus-Swainson-1821.png\" alt=\"Conomurex persicus ( Swainson, 1821)\" width=\"521\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Conomurex-persicus-Swainson-1821.png 700w, https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Conomurex-persicus-Swainson-1821-300x197.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 521px) 100vw, 521px\" \/><\/a><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Conomurex persicus ( Swainson, 1821)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nuovi ritrovamenti hanno ulteriormente esteso l\u2019areale di distribuzione della specie alle acque della Libia (2007), Israele( 1984), Libano (1987) e in Grecia per le acque del Golfo di Saronikos (2007) ed oggi, la specie, pu\u00f2 ritenersi definitivamente stabilita in mediterraneo. \u00a0Verosimilmente non si tratta di un immigrato lessepsiano giacch\u00e9 la specie non \u00e8 mai stata segnalata per il Mar Rosso. Si \u00e8 ritenuto quindi che si fosse introdotta accidentalmente in Mediterraneo grazie ai trasporti marittimi dal Golfo Persico occupando, subito, una nicchia biologica \u201cvuota\u201d. Anche questa possibilit\u00e0 \u00e8 ritenuta poco probabile poich\u00e9 i primi ritrovamenti sono stati fatti lontano dai terminali petroliferi turchi.\u00a0 Ricerche pi\u00f9 recenti invece fanno ritenere pi\u00f9 plausibile l\u2019introduzione volontaria. Qualunque sia stato il mezzo certo \u00e8 che ormai forma colonie piuttosto numerose, fino a 33 esemplari per metro quadrato, tanto da essere venduto anche a scopi alimentari, a 2-3 euro il chilo, nei mercati ittici di Yafo, Israele (Mienis H.K.1999, <em>Strombus persicus<\/em> on the fish market of the Yafo, Israel. De Krenkel <strong>37<\/strong>(7):112).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Descrizione:<\/strong> <\/span>Forma conoidale, spira depressa che generalmente non supera 1\/3 dell\u2019altezza totale del nicchio. Generalmente la conchiglia \u00e8 liscia e solo raramente presenta dei tubercoli e costolature sui giri apicali. Profondo l\u2019intacco stromboidale (<em>strombus notch<\/em> ). L\u2019apertura, fauce, si presenta generalmente bicolore con un settore arancione che segue quello bianco del peristoma. Dorso e ventre spesso a strisce color mogano, periostraco solitamente giallastro. Mediamente lunga 40 mm.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Habitat<\/strong>:<\/span> \u00e8 specie litorale di ambienti rocciosi con circolazione idrica moderata. Tuttavia studi di Crucitti &amp; Rotella (1991) dimostrerebbero che comunque invece prediliga le pozze di scogliera con substrato a fango o sabbia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Altre specie di Strombidae sono state segnalate per le acque mediterranee ma sono, a tutt&#8217;oggi, da ritenersi occasionali o fortuite oppure addirittura letteralmente forzate!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Tricornis tricornis (Humphrey, 1786)<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nNel 2004 Mienis H.K. riporta il ritrovamento di un esemplare per le acque di Israele di questa tipica specie del Mar Rosso. Nello specifico, il <em>lentiginosus<\/em> ha bisogno, per vivere e riprodursi, di un peculiare habitat che in mediterraneo non esiste. Lo esclude anche il CIESM-Atlas of exotic mollusca motivando, testualmente: \u201cA single Mediterranean record by Aharoni (1934), with no follow-up.\u201d. Ci\u00f2 nonostante, sorprendentemente, questa specie \u00e8 presente in molte collezioni mediterranee! Tutte , assicurano i loro possessori, provenienti dalle coste mediterranee dell\u2019Egitto e di Israele e tutte con la nota di raccolta\u201d da pescatori locali\u201d. Anche l\u2019esemplare in foto, collezione Wieneke, proviene dalle coste mediterranee dell\u2019Egitto, El Harish, Mar Mediterraneo. Paradossale!!
