Parliamo oggi dei policheti che, come vedremo, si differenziano molto per forma, colore, riproduzione e strategia di sopravvivenza. Il nome <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">policheti<\/span><\/strong> viene dal greco e significa &#8220;dalle molte setole&#8221;. Essi sono prevalentemente marini e vengono comunemente chiamati vermi marini. Le oltre 4000 specie hanno una distribuzione vastissima in tutti i mari ed a tutte le profondit\u00e0, proliferando in ambienti diversi: dai fondi duri ai fanghi pi\u00f9 molli.\u00a0In fase larvale conducono vita planctonica per poi divenire bentonici o sessili, vivendo attaccate al substrato o dentro di esso,. Il\u00a0loro <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Phylum<\/span><\/strong>, quello degli anellidi,\u00a0\u00a0si caratterizza \u00a0per la metameria ci\u00f2 la suddivisione del corpo in numerosi segmenti uguali \u00a0(metameri) disposti in serie lineare lungo l&#8217;asse anteriore-posteriore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000; font-size: 18pt;\">Descrizione<\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/nereiscabeza.jpg\" alt=\"Questa immagine ha l'attributo alt vuoto; il nome del file \u00e8 nereiscabeza.jpg\" width=\"429\" height=\"405\" \/>I <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Policheti<\/span><\/strong> hanno un corpo generalmente allungato, di forma cilindrica, a volte schiacciato ventralmente, e presentano una simmetria bilaterale. Tra i segmenti distinguiamo un primo metamero anteriore, chiamato <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">prostomio<\/span><\/strong>, e quello finale detto <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">pigidio,<\/span><\/strong> dove si apre l&#8217;ano. Il protostomio pu\u00f2 avere diverse forme ed \u00e8 utile per poter identificare le specie. L&#8217;insieme dei segmenti intermedi \u00e8 invece chiamato <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">metastomio<\/span><\/strong>. Le sue strutture pi\u00f9 caratteristiche sono i <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">parapodi<\/span><\/strong>, solitamente costituiti da due parti, la prima dorsale detta <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">notopodio<\/span><\/strong>, e una ventrale detta <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">neuropodio<\/span><\/strong>. Entrambe le parti presentano un <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">cirro<\/span><\/strong> e sono provviste di setole, delle formazioni chitinose a forma di ago molto caratteristiche da cui deriva il nome del gruppo. Le setole sono connesse mediante muscoli al <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">mesenterio<\/span> <\/strong>ventrale, che permette il loro movimento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le famiglie pi\u00f9 diffuse nei mari sono i <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Sabellidae<\/span><\/strong> ed i <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Serpulidae<\/span><\/strong>, entrambi presenti anche nel Mar Mediterraneo. Essi costruiscono un tubo all&#8217;interno del quale vivono, impastando col secreto di alcune ghiandole il fango o la sabbia del fondo del mare; all&#8217;interno di esso vive il <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">polichete<\/span><\/strong> (il nostro verme) che possiede all&#8217;estremit\u00e0 anteriore, il tipico &#8220;ventaglio&#8221; piumoso costituito da numerosi processi a pettine detti <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">radioli<\/span><\/strong> che portano ai lati dei sottili cirri (pinnule) che sono a loro volta finemente ciliati.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/sabellidae-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10395\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/sabellidae-2.jpg\" alt=\"sabellidae-2\" width=\"1108\" height=\"738\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/sabellidae-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/sabellidae-2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1108px) 100vw, 1108px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">macro di Sabellidae<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Attraverso il movimento delle ciglia si crea un movimento d&#8217;acqua che viene filtrata dalle pinnule dove vengono trattenute tutte le particelle e gli organismi in sospensione.\u00a0In caso di allarme, il polichete arrotola la corolla e si ritrae in fondo al proprio tubo. Questo comportamento \u00e8 ben noto ai subacquei quando si avvicinano troppo a questi animali \u00a0che, quando disturbati, si rinchiudono su stessi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Riproduzione<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nDi regola i sessi sono separati con l&#8217;eccezione di pochissime specie ermafrodite, ovvero in cui lo stesso individuo produce gameti maschili e femminili. I due sessi si distinguono solo per i loro prodotti sessuali finali (gameti) e non presentano dimorfismi.\u00a0Non esistono organi genitali distinti.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Curiosit\u00e0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nMentre la maggior parte degli spirografi sono di piccole dimensioni, in alcune zone temperate alcuni raggiungono una lunghezza superiore a due metri,\u00a0con una corona di tentacoli spessa quattro o pi\u00f9 pollici.\u00a0Il ciclo di vita include uno stadio larvale libero, e le larve microscopiche si disperdono dal luogo di nascita, fino alla metamorfosi nella forma adulta.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/sabellaspallanzanicalabrese.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10399 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/sabellaspallanzanicalabrese.jpg\" alt=\"sabella spallanzani\" width=\"297\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/sabellaspallanzanicalabrese.jpg 312w, https:\/\/www.ocean4future.org\/savetheocean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/sabellaspallanzanicalabrese-300x264.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Spirografo &#8211; <em>Sabella spallanzani<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La specie pi\u00f9 conosciuta nel Mar Mediterraneo \u00e8 sicuramente\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">lo Spirografo (<em>Sabella spallanzani<\/em>)<\/span><\/strong>. Questo polichete \u00e8 munito nella zona cefalica di branchie filiformi che hanno una colorazione che alterna giallo-marrone, marrone scuro e bianco. Una specie bentonica che vive su fondali mobili, sabbiosi o fangosi (se ne possono osservare di bellissimi sui vivai delle coltivazioni di mitili a La Spezia ed a Taranto). \u00a0Vive pressoch\u00e9 in tutti i mari, anche a grandi profondit\u00e0. Comune nel Mar Mediterraneo orientale \u00e8 pi\u00f9 raro in quello occidentale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Andiamo ora a scoprire la grande famiglia dei Sabellidae con alcuni dei suoi esemplari pi\u00f9 interessanti.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;
